Befriend Your Body for Pain Management & Relaxation

Welcome to a mindful movement class for pain management and relaxation that's safe for:

  • chronic pain, fatigue and persistent muscle tension
  •  a recurring / long-term injury (eg. back pain / osteoarthritis / plantar fasciitis / tennis elbow etc)
  • autoimmunity
  • fibromyalgia / polymyalgia
  • job-related muscle tension or stiffness
  • hypermobility syndrome (eg. EDS / Marfans etc)
  • post-op joint replacement / orthopaedic or soft tissue repair surgery

You may have tried other group exercise classes, like Pilates, Yoga or Stretch, but found that they lead to a flare up of symptoms afterwards, or you needed to modify pretty much every move.

There's precious little specific fitness advice out there if you have any of the conditions listed above, so it's hard to know how to exercise safely or use movement to reduce pain, tension and stiffness.

Physiotherapy, and other manual or soft tissue treatments, can get you so far but they're expensive and don't really show you how to manage pain, muscle tension or ease stiffness on your own. So you're forever reliant on being able to see your therapist for pain relief, which is costly in £££s and time.

Fancy pain relief tools are often a quick fix, pricey and lose their effectiveness over time. Again the problem is that you're not really in control of your body without that tool to hand. What if it breaks or you're away on holiday and forgot to pack it in your suitcase?

I've helped 100's of class members and clients find relief from persistent pain and muscle tension in my classes at clubs and leisure centres. I've refined everything that I've learned over a decade professionally, plus my own personal journey with back and joint pain since childhood, into a 4 pillar system, The Befriend Your Body (BYB) Method for pain management.

The BYB Method has helped many members like Zoe to better understand their pain, and therefore take control of it and their body. When Zoe started coming to my class she was so afraid of losing her balance and falling that she was considering buying a mobility aid to help her walk. Now that idea is history!

I'm bringing all of my experience and skills into a new monthly community class, where you can move your body safely even if you have a long-term health condition or injury, be part of a friendly, inclusive community and get specific help with pain management, injury rehab and movement, so you can take back control of your body and life like Zoe.

You can read other members experiences of The BYB Method for pain management and relaxation at the bottom of this page, as well as see feedback from other class participants and my Yoga retreat attendees.
